Podcast: CSOs and food insecurity

Published September 10, 2021, by Morgan Morris

In this new podcast, we look at the role that civil society organisations (CSOs) played in providing food aid in the Western Cape over South Africa’s Covid-19 lockdown in 2020. CSOs stepped up their efforts as it soon became clear that millions of South Africans were under threat of very quickly going without food as they were cut off from their livelihoods. Drawing on input from different stakeholders and perspectives, the podcast also reflects on the part that CSOs can and possibly should play in addressing long-term food insecurity in post-Covid South Africa.
