The Food Safety group at the DSTI-NRF Centre of Excellence in Food Security (CoE-FS) is participating in an EU-funded project, Food Safety for Africa, which focuses on enhancing food safety across the continent. As part of this initiative, one of the project partners has developed a questionnaire on food safety practices in fresh produce value chains.

The CoE-FS’s Food Safety group, led by Professor Lise Korsten, requests relevant stakeholders’ participation in completing the questionnaire, and sharing it with others. Your input will help bring Africa’s food safety to the forefront.

Communication from the project partner includes the below information:

“As a group of scientists, we are keen to understand how food professionals like you address food safety challenges. To support this effort, we kindly invite you to complete an online questionnaire focused on microbiological contamination in the tomato and leafy green value chains. Participation is anonymous – no names or affiliations are required, ensuring that your responses remain confidential.

Your insights will help us assess the current state of food safety and contribute to the development of training programs, educational materials, and policy recommendations. Ultimately, improving food safety can enhance business opportunities and trade across African countries.
