Prospective new applicants (Honours, Master’s and Doctoral) are advised that the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI) – National Research Foundation (NRF) Postgraduate Student Funding Call for the 2027 academic year is now open.

If you are interested in funding through the DSTI-NRF Centre of Excellence in Food Security (CoE-FS), please submit your application online, via the NRF, and ensure that you include the CoE-FS Unique ID (UID) number: 91490 in the relevant section of your application. This will enable the NRF to identify and forward your application to the CoE-FS for consideration. The CoE-FS will not be accepting direct applications.

Please liaise with your institution’s Research Office or Postgraduate Office regarding your institution’s internal closing date. The onus remains on the applicant to ensure that the application is submitted correctly and on time.
