NRF postgraduate call for funding for the 2023 academic year

Published May 13, 2022, by Staff writer

Prospective new applications (honours, masters and doctoral) are alerted that the Department of Science and Innovation-National Research Foundation (DSI-NRF) postgraduate student funding for the 2023 academic year is now open.

If you are interested in DSI-NRF Centre of Excellence in Food Security (CoE-FS) funding, please submit your application online to the NRF and ensure that you insert the CoE-FS Unique ID (UID) number, 91490, into your application in the relevant block. This is so that the NRF can pass your application to the CoE-FS for consideration.

The CoE-FS will not be accepting applications directly.

Please liaise with your institution’s research office / postgraduate office about the institution’s internal closing date.

The onus is on the applicant to submit their application correctly and timeously.

For enquiries, applicants are encouraged to contact the research or postgraduate offices at their respective universities.

The NRF’s contact person for new CoE honours, masters and doctoral applications is:

  • Ms Malekgotla Finger
  • Professional Officer
  • Research Chairs and Centres of Excellence (RCCE)
  • Telephone: 012 481 4003
  • Email address: MD.Finger@risa.nrf.ac.za.

Below, you will find the documentation required to complete your online application:
